The HBCD Alternatives

HBCD is a category of brominated flame retardants consisting of 16 possible isomers. It is also known as the “Cyclic Aliphatic Bromide Cluster (HBCD).” It is mainly in expanded polystyrene foam (EPS) and extruded polystyrene foam (XPS).

But at the final rule became effective November 30, 2016, because (HBCD) Category to TRI List Final Rule.

Emerald 3000 from Dow and Basf ( Polymer):

3) Shandong A chemical (BR-SBS) from China, similar with the E3000;

FR-130 from DKS Chemical, Japan :

1) DKS let Shandong B chemical OEM;(FR-130)

2) Shandong B chemical:(68T) CHINA

3) Shandong A chemical;(RK-972) CHINA

4) Shandong C New Materials;(SR-801) CHINA

5) Jiangsu D chemical;(AP130) CHINA

Shandong A chemical always offer the high price because they help DKS OEM;

The FR-130, the most important factor is how to control the emulsifier, DKS and Shandong A, Jiangsu D do not have the emulsifier,

The difference between E3000 and FR-130:

The E3000 would not let the EPS grain have more moisture and FR130 would have more.
